Draws

How draws work

How winners are picked and how the process stays fair.

When do draws happen?

Draws happen when the prize pool reaches a minimum threshold. The more people saving, the faster the pool grows. If it hasn't reached the threshold yet, the pool keeps building until it does.

How winners are selected

A single winner is selected using a verified random number. Nobody (including the Freebie team) can influence or predict the outcome. Each chance has an equal shot. The winner receives the entire prize pool.

The draw process

  1. A draw is triggered when the prize pool is large enough
  2. A verified random number is generated
  3. That number is matched to one chance in the pool
  4. The prize pool is sent to the winner

Is it fair?

Yes. The random number generation is publicly verifiable, and anyone can check that the result wasn't tampered with. For the full details on how randomness works, see Fairness & verification.
